Gina P. Canlas graduated as Cum Laude (1997) with a Bachelor Degree of Secondary Education Major in Filipino聽 and Master of Arts in Teaching Filipino (2004) at Philippine Normal University. She was a scholar of聽 the Scholarship and Youth Development Program (SYDP) for four years when she was studying in the said university.
She taught at Immaculate Conception Cathedral School from 1997-2007 and became the subject area coordinator (2004-2007) for three years. He taught for one year (2007-2008) at E. Rodriguez Jr. High School. She also taught Filipino 1 (Akademikong Filipino Sining ng Komunikasyon) and Literature at聽 Lyceum of the Philippines (2016-2017) for two academic years. She is currently teaching as Master Teacher II in Senior high school at Quezon City High School, her alma mater. She also became the Filipino coordinator in grade 7 from 2012-2016 and chairman for one year (2016-2017) in the Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) for Reading in grade 7 in the said school. She became the School Learning Resource Coordinator from 2021-2022. She was also appointed as聽 Grade 11 Coordinator of the Discipline Committee in her current school from 2022-2023. She is currently the Grade 11 Coordinator in Senior High School.
She teaches Filipino 1 (Kontekstuwalisadong Komunikasyon sa Filipino) and Filipino 2 (Panimulang Pagsasalin) as a part-time teacher at聽 国产吃瓜黑料一区二区. She is also one of the authors of Obra Maestra III: Noli Me Tangere (third and fourth Edition), Obra Maestra I: Ibong Adarna (fourth Edition), Punla Mga Panitikang Rehiyonal, and Ibong Adarna. She is also one of the module writer, content, and language evaluator in the Division of Quezon City. She has spent twenty-five years of service in the field of teaching.
